On November 5, 1:30-3:00pm, the SMVF (Service Members, Veterans, and their Families) Technical Assistance Center is hosting a webinar about the need for health and behavioral health care providers to ask the question, Have you ever served in the military?  Asking this question provides providers with critical information related to treatment planning and accessing care and benefits.

Five years ago, the American Nurses Association launched their Have you ever served in the military? campaign.  In the interim, Illinois, Kansas, Nevada, and New Hampshire and the city of Los Angeles have implemented initiatives to integrate this question in routine screening.  NH has developed a toolkit to assist providers in implementing a standardized approach and referring SMVF to appropriate services and supports.
