Each year, April is recognized as Month of the Military Child. The Pentagon and other military support organizations and agencies use the month to recognize military kids for their sacrifice and bravery on the homefront. Military children deal with separations, deployments, frequent moves and even their parents’ injuries as part of the life they were born into or entered with their families.
Camp Corral is a national non-profit whose mission is to transform the lives of military-connected children by providing camp, advocacy and enrichment programs. Camp Corral recognizes the very real hardships that go along with serving as a military-connected child – especially one who has experienced the trauma of having a parent become wounded, ill, or fallen as a result of their military service. This year, the organization is hosting nearly 1,500 children and more than 80 families at camps and retreats around the country as well as many new and ongoing virtual and holistic programs.
