The NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and NC Department of Commerce, along with our partners, are excited to announce the first ever “Incarcerated Veterans 2 Entrepreneurship (IV2E)” pilot program.
This event will take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, at the NCWorks Career Center, located at 1830 Tillery Place Suite B, Raleigh, NC 27604; on December 3rd thru the 4th.
Our aim is to highlight the opportunities, expose challenges and help incarcerated veterans to navigate his or her skills and attributes that can ultimately, transfer over into entrepreneurship. We also will provide an overview on the entrepreneurial process and what is really means to be an entrepreneur. Previously incarcerated veterans who are interested in learning about entrepreneurship, are encouraged to attend. Our partnership with the Small Business Administration, will introduce to attendees, the resources that can assist with starting or growing a business. In addition, our other participating partner, Dress for Success Triangle, will provide free image and career coaching that prepares, all aspiring vets, for the entrepreneurship journey. Free business suit for male and female pilot program participants will be provided at the end of the workshop, to prepare you for your upcoming business proposal meeting or interview.
