Free tax preparation for Active Duty, Veterans, and their Dependents

The US Department of Defense and the Internal Revenue Service are partnering to provide active duty, retirees, and their dependents with free tax preparation at military installations.  Known as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) services, preparers can submit both federal and state income tax returns; these returns are reviewed by an expert tax consultant prior to submission.
