The MISSION Act, which launches June 6, 2019, will give Veterans greater access and flexibility when choosing their healthcare providers. President Trump signed the legislation into law last year, which replaces the expiring CHOICE Act. The MISSION Act will allow Veterans who meet certain criteria to see private doctors while the VA picks up the bill. Also, under the MISSION act Veterans will be able to go to urgent care facilities but there are some caveats. Veterans need to be enrolled in VA health care to use community care benefits.
