On June 1, from 9:00a to 4:35p, Southern Regional AHEC, in affiliation with Duke University Medical Center and in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will conduct the First Annual Military Veterans Suicide Prevention Workshop at 1601 Owen Drive, Classroom A&B (third floor), Fayetteville 28304. The free workshop targets military and family members and those who care for them. Kenya Procter, MA, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will conduct training on an evidence-based program, Talk Saves Lives (TSL),
which was designed to help start the conversation about suicide and mental health and to provide participants with a basic understanding of suicide prevention. Lunch will be provided as well as 6 CEUs from NAADAC, the association for addiction professionals.
