Leaders from VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) and Charles George VA Medical Center (CGVAMC) came together on August 11, 2020 for a ribbon cutting ceremony, symbolically opening the new inpatient psychiatry unit at the Asheville facility. According to Dr. Laura Tugman, CGVAMC Assistant Chief of Mental Health Services, the gesture not only marks the approaching end of a lengthy planning and construction process, but also the beginning of a new era in inpatient psychiatric care at the medical center.
