If you have problems falling asleep, staying asleep or waking too early, you are not alone. Many Veterans experience “Insomnia Disorder”, when sleep issues become an ongoing or chronic problem. You can use VA’s Sleep Check-up and talk to your primary care provider about your symptoms. For many Veterans, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a great option. But not all Veterans can go to a VA facility to receive the treatment. That’s why VA has developed a free online course called Path to Better Sleep to make CBT-I available to all Veterans. The course takes advantage of natural sleep rhythms to improve sleep and includes a sleep diary, personalized sleep scheduling and relaxation exercises.
